CareBand uses LoRa-based solutions and improves the quality of life of people with dementia through aggressive diagnostic techniques.
 Semtech Corporation, a leading provider of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductor products and advanced algorithms, today announced that CareBand, Inc., a provider of tracking technology for patients with dementia and their caregivers, has integrated Semtech's LoRa devices and radio frequency Technology (LoRa technology) to locate elderly people with dementia in real time.
CareBand is committed to eliminating and reducing death and injury caused by dementia-related disorders and improving quality of life through the use of aggressive diagnostic techniques. CareBand's devices provide real-time monitoring, long battery life, advanced analysis and discrimination of related crowd behavior, and specialized design features that blend in with the environment. The device is now being tested in Chicago, USA and is expected to be fully marketable by mid-2018.
