Canalys senior analyst Jason Low said in a statement: "Apple has won the wearables game in wearable devices." Canalys said Apple Watch Series 3 has strong demand in the United States, Japan and Australia, with all major carriers shelving it in time for the holidays.

 Canalys research analyst Vincent Thielke said: "However, the limited operator options in the UK, Germany and France affect consumer buying decisions and stifle the growth potential of Apple watches."

Thielke added: "By the first quarter of 2018, emerging markets such as Singapore and Hong Kong will coincide with the traditional Chinese New Year, which will be a great promotional opportunity."

Canalys said that Apple Watch's shipments in 2017 have increased by about 54% compared to 2016.
